FINEST OFFSHORE SERIES 2023<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In 2018 Finnish and Estonian ORC sailors decided to compete together on both sides of the Gulf of Finland. Three events both in 2018 and 2019 were sailed as part of the\u00a0\u00a0FINEST OFFSHORE SERIES<\/strong>. Meanwhile in 2020 and 2021 the series has been suffering because of the Covid-19 and travel restrictions, but a shorter season planned for 2023 with the most popular events included should be easier to follow both for the Estonian and Finnish teams.<\/p>\n

NOTICE OF RACE of the 2023 FINEST Offshore Series<\/h3>\n

Each event will publish its own Notice of Race.<\/p>\n

  1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITIES & EVENTS\n
      \n
    1. All the events described below are organized by the following locations with their organizing authorities in
      \nconjunction with the Finnish Offshore Racing Association (Avomeripurjehtijat) and Estonian Yachting UNION (EYU)<\/p>\n
        \n
      1. E4 Race, KJK, Tallinn, 13.-14.5.2023<\/li>\n
      2. WB-Sails Round the Buoys, HSK, Helsinki, 4.6.2023<\/li>\n
      3. Baltic Offshore Week, MarinaBay, Helsinki, 15.-18.6.2023<\/li>\n
      4. Helsinki-Tallinna Race, 18.-19.8.2023<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      5. RULES\n
          \n
        1. The regattas will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) for 2021-2024 of the World Sailing.<\/li>\n
        2. All other rules applying will be defined with each event\u2019s Notice of Race.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        3. ADVERTISING\n
            \n
          1. Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          2. ELIGIBILITY\n
              \n
            1. The regattas are open to all boats with a valid ORC measurement certificate.<\/li>\n
            2. All sails must be measured.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
            3. ENTRY\n
                \n
              1. Eligible boats will register for each event, using the system described in that event\u2019s NOR.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
              2. GROUPS, FEES, SCHEDULE, MEASUREMENTS, SAILING INSTRUCTIONS, VENUE, THE COURSES, PENALTY SYSTEM, SUPPORT BOATS, BERTHING, HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS, DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS, RADIO COMMUNICATION, AND INSURANCE.\n
                  \n
                1. Each event\u2019s NOR will define.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                2. SCORING\n
                    \n
                  1. For the Results of the FINEST Offshore Series a High Point System will apply:\n
                      \n
                    1. Each boat will receive point(s) equal to the number of boats she beat, plus one point.<\/li>\n
                    2. The winner of each regatta will score one bonus point.<\/li>\n
                    3. Maximum of 14 boats are scored at each event.<\/li>\n
                    4. One ranking will be compiled, even if there are two (2) groups at an event.<\/li>\n
                    5. The end season series score will be the sum of all points from individual regattas with one exclusion (throw out).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                    6. PRIZES\n
                        \n
                      1. The first three (3) teams of the Series will be awarded with the trophies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                      2. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY\n

                        1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
