\"\"Who is sailing good for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boys and girls interested in sailing usually start with the beginner classes, where they get familiar with basics of sailing, get some experience with the sail boat, become comfortable with the river and the sea. It is also important to keep in mind that sailing is not always for everyone. The beginner classes will often give a hint of whether there is something in sailing for the youngsters. If there is, we may have already changed the life of a young person.<\/p>\n

Children at 8 years are at a good age to start, but it is not too late at ages of 12-13. We start with the Optimist dinghy, which is the worlds most popular sailing boat for beginners of up to 15 years of age.<\/p>\n

If the child is not fluent in Estonian, don\u2019t worry – we speak the international sailing language.<\/p>\n

Beginner classes \u2013 where, when and how?<\/b><\/p>\n

Throughout the season from May to September we run several beginner sailing classes for beginners groups. Depending on weather conditions, we start in May or early June. The beginner classes include 8 classes, up to 3 hrs each, during 2 consecutive weeks. There are up to 8 children in each group, so everybody gets good attention and properly looked after. The school provides all the neccessary equipment, but weatherproof clothing should be brought from home.<\/p>\n

Although sailing is rumoured to be an expensive sport, it is not so. At least when it is practised on a beginners- and advanced level. Please check the pricelist for applicable fees…<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Prior to joining the sailing classes, we suggest you come and see us at the school, meet the coaches, boats and check out any questions you may have.<\/p>\n

The beginners classes take place in Pirita Marina.<\/p>\n

How to sign up for the school?<\/b><\/p>\n

Please drop an email to us spordikool@kjk.ee<\/a>, for early registration. Feel free to propose your suitable times.
\nOnce the child has successfully been through the basic classes, and you think it is the right place for them, we sign a mutual agreement<\/span> for continued studies at the sailing school, by choosing the optimum classes, frequency and intensity.<\/p>\n
